Look what arrived in our mailbox last week!

Us with the US design patent for thingCHARGER.

Yep, that’s the patent granted by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for the auxiliary port and outlet extender – otherwise known as thingCHARGER. This means we – Seymour and Amy Segnit - now have the exclusive rights in the United States to make, use and sell this invention during the life of the patent, which is 20 years from last June (when we filed).

If you want to learn more about the specifics covered under the patent, search for US patent D700,892 on the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office database.

Also, due to the overwhelming global interest in thingCHARGER, we’ve filed for protection in several other countries through the Patent Cooperation Treaty, and are working through the prosecution process now.  We can’t wait to be able to provide thingCHARGERS to meet the needs of our customers worldwide as soon as possible!

Stay tuned for our next update on prototypes and manufacturing : )
